Important Notice Regarding Accommodation Inquiries
Given the confidential nature of examination accommodations, Licensing Process representatives and other Law Society staff are unable to respond to inquiries regarding accommodations. Please direct all such inquiries to Accommodation Coordinators and note the following:
Due to the complexity and sensitivity of accommodation-related inquiries, response times are often longer than with other types of inquiries. Voice mail and email messages will generally receive a response within 2 business days; however, response times may be longer during peak periods. The accommodation team is often able to respond soonest to email messages sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. The more clearly you can outline your request in writing, the easier it will be to provide you with a clear answer. Thank you for your understanding.
Candidates seeking accommodation for Licensing Examinations must review the Law Society’s Policy and Procedures for Accommodations for Candidates in the Lawyer and Paralegal Licensing Processes. This document contains important information about the Law Society’s duty to accommodate candidates, the Law Society’s procedures and strategies for accommodation, and candidates’ responsibilities when requesting and receiving accommodation.
Before initiating an accommodation request, candidates must first register for the licensing examination for which accommodation is sought and have completed their financial arrangements with the Law Society. Documents received by Examination Administration in advance of completed registration will not be processed until notification of registration is received from the candidate at email@example.com.
Accommodation Request and Approval Process
To make a request for accommodation, candidates must follow the procedures set out in the Policy and Procedures for Accommodations for Candidates in the Lawyer and Paralegal Licensing Processes. In order to receive accommodations for a Licensing Examination, candidates will be required to submit three forms: (1) an Accommodation Request Form, (2) a Supporting Documentation Form for Medical Professionals Recommending Accommodation (where applicable), and (3) an Agreement and Undertaking regarding Licensing Examination Accommodation which will be sent to the candidate once accommodation is approved.
Details of approved accommodations, the location, and time of the accommodated examination sitting will be provided via the candidate’s personal email address on file with the Law Society at least 15 business days prior to the examination. Please ensure your email address is up to date, and note that accommodated examinations are written at a separate location from those posted on the Law Society website. Location information for accommodated examinations is communicated directly to the candidate via email, as above.
The Accommodation Request Form, and the Supporting Documentation Form, with all necessary supporting documentation, must be completed in full and received in Examination Administration no later than 30 business days prior to the sitting of the Licensing Examination for which a candidate has requested the accommodation. Final determinations about accommodation requests will not be made until all required supporting documentation is received.

Expiration of Approval
Approved accommodations will carry over to a future examination sitting subject to the following limitations: 1) that the examination is within the same licensing cycle, 2) that the accommodation granted was not approved on the basis of a temporary ground, 3) that there is no need for change to the approved accommodation. In the event that there is a need for a change to the approved accommodation, the candidate must reapply by the deadlines listed below.
