Licensing Process candidates of the Law Society who have completed all phases of the Licensing Process and are awaiting call to the bar are reminded that their status remains as a "student-at-law", with the consequent limitations and requirements, until they have received their call. Students-at-law are absolutely prohibited from providing legal services that are normally provided by a lawyer and from holding themselves out as a lawyer, until they are called to the bar.
