China, Cases of Victims of Contaminated Milk (November, 2008)

The Law Society intervened in the case of the harassment and intimidation of lawyers from mainland China who offer voluntary legal aid to the victims of contaminated milk powder products. Reports indicate that some lawyers have been warned by judicial departments in China to stop taking these cases. It is the Law Society's belief that lawyers should not be prevented from discharging their legitimate professional duties.
